Dear Members, Colleagues, and Friends,
This past month has been one of both reflection and inspiration. CEAI organised some truly brilliant training programs and webinars-designed to strengthen professional capacity and equip participants with the latest tools and insights. While the response in terms of numbers was not as strong as I had hoped, I was deeply encouraged by the feedback from those who did participate with respect to the quality of training and the trainers. They found the sessions immensely valuable and enriching, and their appreciation reaffirms the importance of such initiatives. Going forward, I sincerely hope to see greater participation from our community, because these platforms are created with your growth and success in mind.
At the same time, the past weeks have reminded us of the urgent challenges of our times. The heavy monsoons, cloudbursts, and floods that ravaged many parts of India are not isolated events-they are the unmistakable signs of climate change. As engineers, we cannot afford complacency. It is our duty to design differently, to advocate for resilient and sustainable solutions, and to guide decision-makers with foresight and responsibility. Our work must not only serve today’s needs but also safeguard the generations to come.
Amid these sobering realities, we also had moments of pride. In August, at the FIDIC Asia Pacific Conference in Bali, many CEAI members received awards on the international stage. These recognitions are a shining testament to the brilliance and innovation of Indian engineering. It was inspiring to see our colleagues honoured among the best in the world, and it reinforces our belief in the strength and talent within our community.
Looking ahead, I am delighted to share that registrations for the CEAI Annual Conference and Awards are now open. This flagship event promises to be a landmark gathering-bringing together leaders, innovators, and policymakers to exchange ideas, celebrate excellence, and shape the future of our industry. I strongly encourage all of you to be part of it, contribute your perspectives, and make your presence felt.
Friends, the challenges we face are significant, but so too are the opportunities. Together, let us learn, innovate, and lead with purpose. The world is looking to engineers to design a safer, more sustainable future-and I know that CEAI and its members will continue to rise to that responsibility.
Warm Regards,
Prashant Kapila
